Pat Roach Pruitt Pavilion Dedication

The Pat Roach Pruitt Pavilion Dedication was held on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 1:00 P.M.  Benefactors enjoyed a luncheon prior to the dedication.  Celeste Elementary Principal, Paula Lyon, welcomed the crowd and praised the efforts and generosity of all the benefactors that made the Pat Roach Pruitt Pavilion possible.  Celeste Superintendent, Collin Clark, introduced the benefactors, Mr. and Ms. David W. Pruitt and children, Jana Alison, John David, and Charles Tyler.  Other benefactors that were present included Bob and Reba Barnard, Ronnie and Marilyn Clinton, and Kenneth and Pam Sumrow.  Mr. Clark paid tribute to Mrs. Pruitt, a 1963 graduate of Celeste ISD, for being an outstanding athlete and for touching so many lives during her career as an educator.  David Pruitt spoke to the crowd of how proud Mrs. Pruitt would be of the pavilion. Following Mr. Pruitt’s speech, the benefactors joined together for the ribbon cutting.  The ceremony closed with a performance from the PIP (Players in Progress) basketball group, and a reception followed.
