Celeste Junior High School
Urban Legend and Superstition Projects
By: Frances Wilgus

Every year at Celeste Jr. High, the English teacher, Mrs. Hicks, has the students do a special project around Halloween. Last year the students researched different haunted houses, and the year previously, they wrote their own epitaphs. This year, Mrs. Hicks' students learned about urban legends and different superstitions. The students had to write their own urban legend or a spooky story about a crazy superstition. After they wrote their compositions, the students were required to make a warning sign to signify their creepy story.
