On October 5th, the Celeste Volunteer Fire Department spoke to CES students (PreK-5th) about fire safety. The firefighters discussed basic fire safety rules and the importance of having a home fire escape plan. Firefighters can look intimidating to young children, so one firefighter dressed in his suit. The firefighters explained that their suits were built for protection, and the children learned they should never hide or run away from a firefighter in the event of a fire. The visit concluded with the firefighters demonstrating fire safety equipment including the fire and rescue trucks.
