Fire Department |
The Celeste Volunteer Fire Department spoke to CES students (PreK-5th) about fire safety. The students were entertained by firefighter clowns, Axe and Sprinkler. The clowns presented a skit that included basic fire safety rules and the importance of knowing your phone number, street address, family member names, and having a home fire escape plan with a central meeting place. Firefighters can look intimidating to young children, so to ease fears, one firefighter dressed in his suit. The firefighters explained that their suits were built for protection, and the children learned they should never hide or run away from a firefighter in the event of a fire. The visit concluded with the firefighters demonstrating fire safety equipment including the fire and rescue trucks.
