Occupational Therapist Visits
5th Grade Health Class
In Health class, 5th graders have begun to study the human body. While
reviewing the human skeleton, they learned that the human body has over 200
bones. Mrs. Kellie McBroom, an occupational therapist, visited the 5th graders
classroom and shared models of bones that she uses at work. She brought an arm,
a hand, a spinal column, a shoulder, and a hip for the students to see. Students
also learned that most of these bones can be repaired or replaced when necessary.
